Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salad with Chocolate Balsamic Vinaigrette

CSA member Ashley Richardson's recipe

Ingredients: Serves 2 people

- mesculin greens from Ambrose Family Farm
- 6 strawberries from Ambrose Family Farm, sliced
- Split Creek Farm plain goat cheese
- 2 Tbsp. slivered almonds
- 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp. dijon mustard
- 1 small garlic clove, chopped
- salt/pepper
- 2 fresh thyme sprigs
- 2-3 Tbsp. olive oil from Ambrose Family Farm
- 1/4 tsp. Hershey's chocolate syrup

To make the vinaigrette:
Combine the balsamic vinegar, chopped garlic, dijon mustard, salt/pepper, thyme leaves, Hershey's syrup and wisk together, while wisking slowly drizzle in the olive oil and continue wisking to form the dressing.

To assemble the salad:
Toss together the mesculin greens, strawberries, almonds and desired amount of vinaigrette. Place salad on each plate and crumble the goat cheese over the top.
