We are a small café, specializing in fresh vegetables and meats prepared "Southern-home cooked" style (not sure this is considered a style, but it is YUMMY). We offer entrées of chicken, beef, pork, crab cakes, or shrimp but our "side dish" menu is our real drawing card and one of the things that sets us apart for other lunch counters. Our "side dish" menu changes daily and is focused on the vegetables in season and being harvested on the farm.
Some of our favorite dishes have become signature items at the Tomato Shed Cafe like
Tomato Pie,
Squash Casserole, Collards, Butter Beans, Cucumber-Onion-Tomato Salad. Generally, we have at least 20 veggie side dishes to choose from, and often 30, so there is no shortage of good fresh vegetables on our menu. Tea, Coffee, or water are FREE - included in the price of your meal (soft drinks are extra).
We are known for our Crab Cakes, Tomato Shed Shrimp, and any dish made with our delicious Pimiento Cheese.
Busy and want to serve your family a tasty, good-for-you meal-Quickly? Just stop in and pick up a Take and Bake meal. We have casseroles, prepared vegetables, home made Pastas, Ravioli, Lasagnas, pasta sauces, locally produced grass fed, hormone and antibiotic free beef from Stevenson's Place Farm, fresh shrimp ready to cook, and microwaveable meals, prepared fresh from the lunch menu. If you prefer, review today's lunch menu, call before 2:30 and place your order. Stop at the Stono Market on your way home and pick up your dinner!
We also cook complete
